French is a language to be spoken.

Learning French involves more than remembering vocabulary and conjugating verbs. You need to hear it. You need to recognise its rhythm. And eventually, you need to become comfortable opening your mouth and using it.

The French Group Course combines clear, structured language teaching with regular opportunities to speak and interact with other learners. Grammar and vocabulary are introduced progressively and always connected to communication — a new verb might become a conversation, vocabulary from a reading activity might appear later in a role-play, a listening exercise might lead to questions, opinions or a discussion between students.

Particular attention is also given to pronunciation and listening. French can look familiar on the page while sounding very different when spoken, so students gradually become accustomed to its sounds, connected speech and natural rhythm rather than relying only on written French.

The small-group format gives everyone opportunities to participate while creating something a textbook cannot provide: other people to communicate with. You learn together, make mistakes together, listen to different voices and gradually discover that the French you've been studying is becoming French you can actually use.
