Private German — understand the language, one step at a time.

One-to-one German lessons built around your level, pace and goals. From grammar and sentence structure to pronunciation and conversation, your teacher focuses entirely on the German you need — and gives you the time to truly understand it.

One-to-One Personalised German Your Pace · Your Goals

German makes more sense when there's time to ask why.

German is a wonderfully structured language — but sometimes that structure needs a little time to understand. Why did der become den? Why is the verb suddenly at the end of the sentence? Which preposition needs which case? In a group, you may understand most of the lesson but still have one question you never quite get the chance to ask. Private German gives us the time to stop there.

Your teacher can explain a structure differently, give another example, practise it with you and stay with it until the pattern begins to make sense. But understanding German grammar is only part of learning German — every new structure needs to leave the page eventually.

Lessons therefore combine grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, listening, reading and conversation, with the balance adapted to your individual needs. You might need German for work, travel or family. You might be studying it at school. Perhaps you're starting completely from the beginning, returning after many years or simply want to become more comfortable speaking. Wherever you're starting from, the lesson starts there too.

  • Grammar & Sentence Structure
Work at your own pace through German cases, gender, verb forms, word order and other important structures, with time to understand the logic behind them.
  • Speaking & Conversation
Turn new grammar and vocabulary into questions, answers and practical conversations so the language becomes something you can actually use.
  • Vocabulary & Pronunciation
Build vocabulary relevant to your own goals while developing clearer pronunciation and greater familiarity with spoken German.
  • Listening & Comprehension
Develop your ability to understand German in real time and become increasingly confident responding without translating every sentence first.

“Wait — can we go back? Why did the verb move to the end?”A Student, Spotting The Pattern

“Absolutely. That's exactly the question we need to answer before we move on.”The Teacher, Because There's No Need To Rush
