Teacher Barbara
Barbara brings to jamesalbert® a valuable combination of professional experience, a strong understanding of the Italian school system and many years of working with children. A long-standing member of the San Giorgio community and a mother of two teenagers, she provides patient, practical support to children with homework, organisation and the wider demands of school life.
“Learning does not stop when school ends. I believe children grow when they feel supported, encouraged and confident enough to keep trying.”
Experience, Community & Approach
Barbara has worked in back-office and administrative positions for reputable businesses across the Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto regions. These roles developed the strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills she now brings to her work with children and families.
Children have also been an important part of Barbara’s life for many years. She has regularly taken part in summer camps and community activities and has extensive experience helping children with homework and supporting them with their studies.
Barbara is a long-standing member of the San Giorgio community and a mother of two teenagers. Alongside her experience as a parent, she has served as a parent representative within the school community, giving her a particularly good understanding of the local schooling system and the everyday needs of children and families.
Her familiarity with local schools, families and community life makes her role in the jamesalbert® After-School Club especially natural: she understands both the academic responsibilities children bring home and the importance of creating a calm, supportive environment after the school day.
At jamesalbert®, Barbara focuses primarily on homework support and the wider educational needs of children. While she is not a native English speaker, she works alongside our language teachers to help children with the other subjects, routines and responsibilities that form part of their school day.
Her approach is patient, practical and encouraging. She aims to help children become more organised and independent while ensuring they know that support is available when something feels difficult.
Outside the classroom, Barbara enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and continuing to develop herself through courses and new learning experiences. She strongly believes in lifelong learning.
Barbara is also an English student herself and is currently working towards a B2-level qualification. Being a learner gives her an additional connection with students: she understands the value of persistence, practice and gradually building confidence.
